Catalan vines produce high quality red and white wine
This is a really fantastic piece of news for those of you (us) that enjoy wine.
Until September 23, 15 of the most luxurious hotels in Barcelona will be offering winetastings of Catala D.O. wines at €15 a pop. The wine festival is called Hotels amb D.O – D.O means Denominació d’Origen and is the local equivalent of the French Appelation Controlee – and the whole idea is to promote some the excellent Catalan wines.
Participants will receive some basic advice on the art of winetasting, an overview of the twelve Catalan D.Os and will then be invited to try six of Catalunya’s best wines.
It sounds pretty good to me and what’s more all attendees will get free entry to the Mostra de Vins i Cavas (the Wine and Cava Show) that is on near Arc de Triomf throughout La Mercè.
